In the political theory of population there are many concepts of national understanding. Meanwhile, if you omit small differences, all of them can be subdivided into two categories: «anti» and «for». That is, theories that substantiate the need to protect the rights of nations and recognize the rights of nations to independent existence as an axiom of interethnic relations. And those which completely deny any concessions to national minorities, seeing it as a threat to the development of statehood.
