The collection of scientific materials includes the reports of the participants of the International Scientific Conference «Global Transformation Processes in the Countries of the World’s Periphery (Sub-Saharan Africa): Challenges and Opportunities for Ukraine» conducted by the Department of History of the countries of Asia and Africa of the State Institution «Institute of World History, NAS of Ukraine», June 16, 2016.  The submitted materials cover different aspects of  development of the countries of Sub-Saharan Africa in the political, economic and соціокультурній сферах, що мають суттєвий вплив на провідні трансформаційні процеси на національному і регіональному рівнях. Значна увага приділена питанням розвитку відносин України з країнами Субсахарської Африки. Цей збірник є першим виданням наукових праць з проблем африканістики в Україні.
